Scrub Up Brilliantly At Ultimate Spa

HEALTH is on tap at the new Shoal Bay Resort and Spa.

According to Lee Brunskill, director of the resort's $5.5million hydrotherapy Aqua Spa and Health Club, `spa' is an acronym of the Latin expression Salus per Aquum, meaning `health from water'.

In keeping with this, the signature treatment at Aqua Spa is `Aqua Elements', a treatment that:

* refines the body with a marine mineral salt scrub

* relaxes and detoxifies with oxygen steam treatment

* improves circulation and releases tension with an aroma hydrotherapy bath

* finishes up with an oxygen facial and Biotrop light therapy.

In line with Shoal Bay Resort and Spa's commitment to reasonably priced services and accommodation, the majority of the treatments are under $100.

Among the available treatments are the Aqua Salt Glow, the Therapeutic Hydro Bath and Hydrating Body Polish, as well as massages, facials, hair cuts, blow waves, pedicures and manicures.

Guests who are interested in finding out about a change of lifestyle which incorporates exercise, nutrition and spa treatments can seek the advice of the on-site doctor at the Aqua Health Club.

If the change you're seeking is less radical, such as a new hairstyle, you can visit the salon and sit back and relax while being pampered with an Aveda hair treatment.

Also offering a refreshing change for visitors to the area is the resort's beachfront situation.

`The location is without comparison on the NSW coastline,' said a spokesman for the resort.

`More than 95% of the accommodation enjoys views due north over the entrance to Port Stephens, the Myall Lakes and pristine waterways of Shoal Bay.'

The resort's five levels of accommodation include 163 self-contained strata title apartments.

Also available are studios, villas, suites and penthouses.

Bars, restaurants, two outdoor swimming pools and security car parking are all on hand to add to the enjoyment of guests at the Shoal Bay Resort and Spa.
